Everybody talks about the future. Nobody knows when it will get here
or what it will be like.
I, for one, believe it has already started. I think we are living in the
future and it's a whole lot better than living in the past. I think of the
future as being like a wave, a paradigm shift or consciousness, which is
washing over us, which will sweep everyone up in it and won't leave
anyone behind (unless they are an anachronism).
I think the future for me began with Windows 98. We had computers
before that, but we just thought of them like sophisticated typewriters.
Windows 98 with America On Line (AOL) and later XP was the first
time we had a uniform operating system with Internet access that was
mutually affordable.
A desktop computer with all the peripherals and accessories was still a major investment and more than a headache to keep it all up and operating.
Now it's a cell phone. It fits in the palm of your hand. It does everything
faster and better. And thanks to President Obama and the Obama phones
that bear his name, the phones are free.
This will be a great leap for our human consciousness. It's bigger than
than the small step for a man that put us on the moon because it's all
inclusive. No longer do we have to be divided by the 'haves' and the
'have-nots' in our society. The only investment necessary is our time
and our own imagination.
The future is now and it's incredible!
